The Resonate iOS app lets you reach your production team no matter where you are, all from your iPhone.
This guide will teach you how to use the Resonate app to manage your podcast production.

How to use the Remote Recorder on iOS
To record a remote interview on the iOS app, you have to start a new Session in the web app, then send an invitation to your guests which they can open on their iPhones.
Steps for the host
Log into the Remote Recorder on a computer
Click Start recording session
Click Start a call
Click Guests”
Add all your guest emails then click Send invites underneath the list. Ask your guest to check their spam folder if they don’t receive an email in 60 seconds.

Create a free Resonate account
Open your email and click the invitation from the host. The link will open your app to the Session
Do my guests need an account to join a Remote Recorder session?
Yes. Your guests will need to make a free Resonate account in order to join a recording session with the iOS app. However, they can join your session on the web app through a computer without making an account.
How to record a solo recording
You can record your podcast intro, ads, or even a full-length monologue episode using the built-in recorder feature in the app. While remote recordings require access to a computer to start them, you can fire up a solo recording in the app on your own, no matter where you are.
Open the app
Click “Record” in the bottom center
Grant access to your microphone
Click “Start” to begin recording
Record with AirPods or a mobile lav mic like the SmartLav+ (plus this iPhone adapter) for better sound quality.
Click stop recording to end your monologue recording
Give your recording a name, preview it, and click “Save to my library” or delete

Open the iOS app
Click on your show name in the top left corner
Click “Library” to access all of your recordings
How to submit a new episode
At this time the Resonate iOS app does not support creating new episodes. You can log into the web app to create a new episode, then edit your submission from the mobile app.
How to edit an episode in production
Open the iOS app
Select the episode you want to edit
Click on the edit icon in the top right corner
Update your episode title, season number and episode number, type of episode (full episode, trailer, bonus episode), episode description, editing and mixing instructions, and show notes.
Click “Save” to publish your changes. If your episode is already approved and already live in directories, any changes you make will be reflected in those directories the next time they refresh your feed.
What are my episode-specific settings?
Episode title: The name of your episode. Publicly displayed on podcast directories.
Season number: The season number is displayed on podcast directories.
Episode number: The chronological number of your episodes.
Type of episode: You can choose from three episode types.
Full episode: A standard length episode of your podcast
Trailer episode: A short episode of your podcast (usually 2-7 mins)
Bonus episode: A special edition episode of your podcast released after a full season is released
Description: A summary of your episode’s content. This is your opportunity to really sell to listeners why they should listen to the full episode. Some people add their show notes here and others add just a short summary. 4,000 characters max.
Publish date and time: This is the official time when Resonate will publish your episode on your RSS feed and podcast microsite. Directories will release your episode based on their independent refresh cycle within the day. You can learn more about this here.
Editing and mixing instructions: Let your audio engineers know what they need to fix on your episode, what timestamps they need to remove (if you purchased standard audio). These instructions are private to you and the Resonate team, and will not be shared publicly.
Show notes: This field displays your show notes on your podcast microsite. You can use HTML formatting to add hyperlinks, lists, and more. Learn how to format your show notes here.
How to review, approve, and schedule or publish an episode
Open the iOS app
Navigate to the episode you want to publish
Click on the edit icon in the top right
Set your publish date (we recommend Tuesday or Wednesday at 5AM EST) and click “Schedule”
Click “Approve” on your episode master then click “Save” to close the episode page
That’s it. Your episode will go live on directories whenever you publish it.

How to request an edit
Open the iOS app
Navigate to the episode you want to change
Click on the comment icon in the top right corner
Toggle on “My comment includes edit requests”
Type your comment and click the send icon

How to switch between shows
If you manage multiple podcasts in Resonate, such as a free podcast and a paid membership podcast, you can easily switch between your different shows in the app.
1. Open the iOS app
2. Click on your show name in the top left corner
3. Click on your other show under the section “My other podcasts”
4. Click “x” in the top right corner to access your other show
How to switch from light mode to dark mode
Open the iOS app
Click on your show name in the top left corner
Toggle on dark mode or light mode to change the look and feel of the app
